Anna Hansen
Restaurant: The Modern Pantry
Canadian-born, New Zealand raised, London trained Hansen has feet in modern British and French traditions, with an antipodean chefs' nod to southeast Asia. She trained under Fergus Henderson (St John) at The French House Dining Room before working with one of Fusion cuisine's pioneers, Peter Gordon (The Providores and the newly opened Kopapa) at Green Street and The Sugar Club. She also had stints in Melbourne for Stephanie Alexander, and New Zealand, before opening The Modern Pantry in Clerkenwell in 2008 to much applause.
You can try Anna's food on Saturday 3rd December when she will be the guest chef in the Action Against Hunger pop-up restaurant. She will also be appearing live in the AEG Taste Theatre at 4pm, and will be hosting a book signing following her demonstration.
